Anacani WaltersOwner and Original PHAT MermaidI've been practicing yoga since 2012. It became a form of therapy to deal with depression as I adjusted to being a new military spouse. You could say that yoga saved me.
I found SUP Yoga on my birthday in Hawai'i while my husband was deployed, and it changed my life. I loved it so much I became an instructor, and PHAT Mermaids was born. I am improving self-esteem, self-acceptance, and mindfulness on lesson at a time. There is something about the healing waters of the ocean that bestows each of my students with the calming release and rejuvenation. When I am not a Mermaid, I'm busy cooking, gardening, web designing, and blogging about the wonders of being a military spouse and everything that comes with the title. |

I am also dedicated to offering my services if it means getting to help out people, especially if it involves finding themselves and their ability to self-love. Personally, I find PHAT Mermaids to be a great opportunity to not just help others, but to help find myself too and what I am capable of.

Areana CurrentPHAT Mermaid In-Training/Crafty Mermaids AssistantFor as long as I can remember I've always had a creative mindset and have always enjoyed helping out people. It's become a part of who I am today. I love working with my hands and organizing things and helping people fight their insecurities and learning to love the little things about themselves because it is also something I am still working on. I believe that PHAT Mermaids will give me many learning opportunities and skills that I can use in my future and it can help me challenge myself and become a stronger person.
